At the heart of my practice is a simple belief: You are so much more than the symptoms you experience or the struggles you face. My approach is rooted in seeing and understanding you as a whole person—your experiences, relationships, beliefs, strengths, and the unique story that has shaped who you are today. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, considering the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of your life. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma and life transitions. Drawing from Narrative Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), I help clients explore how past experiences shape present patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR); this is an evidence-based treatment modality that uses the brain’s natural reprocessing ability (similar to the process that occurs in the brain during REM sleep) to relieve distress brought on by a particular life experience/memory. I do a lot of educating in sessions around symptoms, coping skills, and the science behind mental health because I have found that this allows individuals to feel more empowered to understand the “why” behind things. I utilize humor (when appropriate), which I believe allows sessions to feel more personal, comfortable, and less daunting. Every interaction offers clinical information about possible blind spots or further insight into stuck points that I, as an objective viewer, can gain to better understand the presenting problem in order to better assist the individual in reaching their goal for therapy.
For those who desire it, I also offer faith-based services for clients who desire to bring their faith into session, whether it be a positive support or a source of contention they desire to work through. You do not have to be a Christian to work with me.
I believe therapy should be a collaborative and authentic experience. I value honest conversations, curiosity, education, and even humor when appropriate. I enjoy helping clients understand the why behind their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors because I believe greater understanding leads to empowerment and lasting change.
Above all, my hope is that you leave therapy feeling more connected to yourself, equipped to navigate life’s challenges, and empowered to create meaningful change. It would be an honor to walk alongside you in that journey.
On a more personal side, I grew up playing competitive soccer and still love to play whenever I get a chance. I also enjoy camping, drawing/painting, watching documentaries, and reading – I love to learn!
